Coverage appreciated
To the editor: I was happy to see the featured coverage of the TART trail extension through Cleveland Township. I am hopeful that continued thought is put into redirecting the project in order to protect the natural landscape for residents and visitors.

Leash your dog!
To the editor: I love dogs, but I am terrified of off leash dogs. I have an older “rescue” dog that is highly reactive to other dogs, and we love going on hikes on public trails.

Board flip-flop
To the editor: How interesting to read in the Enterprise ( Cleveland Addresses Segment 9) that Jan Nowak, along with Tim Stein and Angie Diotte, have flip flopped on their support of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail route extension. It was, after all, Jan’s motion to support a resolution at the September 10, 2019 Cleveland Township Board meeting in favor of the proposed route.

3 Things
To the editor: 1. Everyone can and should be who they want to be, genderwise, and otherwise, but the risqué body display for the drag Tea Dance in Northport is not appropriate for children, daytime, or even a photo in Leelanau Enterprise.

Board accomplishments
To the editor: This newspaper paints a picture of our Leelanau County Board of Commissioners as an acrimonious and dysfunctional body, in part by devoting a great deal of attention to minor issues. Yet we should remember that the current bipartisan Board has accomplished a lot, often with support by five out of six commissioners.

Dog poo
To the editor: I love dogs. I love animals.

Grateful
To the editor: The Leland Library is thrilled that our operating millage passed with a resounding 70% margin. This community support provides a strong foundation as we work to enhance our library’s facilities and services.

Truth in advertising
To the editor: For anyone who’s ever attended a BOC meeting, particular attention should be paid to the ‘Approval of Financials’ section. Each Commissioner, on a rotating basis, makes a motion for disbursement of county funds towards specific items.

Interests over ambitions
To the editor: Nikki Haley stated, “The first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins the election.” Interestingly, Trump, now 78, would be 82 by the end of a potential second term. His recent rallies reveal concerning signs: gibberish, slurred speech, confusion about people and facts.

Extension support
To the editor: As a former TART Trails and Leelanau Conservancy board member, I celebrate the connections between human recreation and exploration and responsible well planned access to cherished, conserved places. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, winding throughout the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore exemplifies this intersection beautifully.

‘On True Greatness’
To the editor: A recent (unsolicited) Trump MAGA mailing got me to thinking, what is greatness? Foremost seems to be “otherness.” Great people don’t have to tell anyone they’re great. Being “great” isn’t a goal in their life.

Grateful for support
To the editor: Leelanau County Senior Services expresses our sincere gratitude to the voters for supporting the renewal of the Senior Services Millage. The approval reflects the compassion, dedication and commitment that Leelanau County has in taking care of the people who have built our community.
