To the editor: OK, What Now? The RNC and DNC conventions are now over ! Perhaps there are a few who do not like either Presidential candidate. Your possible response may be: “ Why bother to vote ?” Well as a “legal, “ U.S. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Calvin Coolidge was not the most popular President and he refused a second term. He was well educated and really respected. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Voters of County Commissioner District 4Leelanau Township and adjacent areas, on November 5, RE-ELECT Ty Wessell to represent you. Since 2014, Ty has served our area with integrity, leadership, and insight. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Great coverage of the Leelanau Energy Members Picnic and gathering “to celebrate successes and plan for the year ahead.” Some recall the December 2022 failure of a Leelanau Community Energy group’s past project when Northport’s wind turbine fell down. There was great hoopla about this Big Green Machine’s installation, like a Christmas tree, bedecked only with tax credits for investors who touted sustainable, renewable, free winddriven energy. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Leelanau: where common sense and decency is the norm. I support a candidate who is not a felon; who is not liable for sexual abuse; who has not cheated America through tax evasion; who has not committed fraud, cheating non-profit donors; who has not scammed students; who has not conspired to stop the peaceful transfer of power, denying our right to vote; who is not an election racketeer; and who has not violated the Espionage Act. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM
Letter … nasty
Letter … nasty
To the editor: I laughed out loud when I read the letter in last week’s Leelanau Enterprise suggesting people who support the LGBTQ+, transgender, and other “human beings” who are on a different path than are others in this world, do not having “critical thinking skills”, otherwise they would realize that by supporting these “God given” pathways for these individual lives, they are somehow weakening humanity. This letter dripped of ignorance, meanness, nastiness and just plain stupidity. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Oh please! Let’s use what we already have — we don’t need “porta johns” in our parking lot, on the village main street. It is needed for that and donated for parking. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Hello readers and a hearty congratulations on another superb concert by the Northport Community Band on their “Spirit of America” concert at the Northport Performing Arts Center Saturday. There is so much great talent in this area of Leelanau. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Thank you for prominently reporting on the Cleveland Township Board’s discussion of SBHT Segment 9 at its August meeting. Their discussion was in preparation for voting on an action item at September’s meeting on whether the Township should re-enter active conversations with the NPS about the trail. 08/28/2024 10:35 PM

To the editor: Thank you, voters, for renewing the Suttons Bay Bingham District Library’s operating millage! The library millage passed with 74% approval from the library’s service areas of Suttons Bay Village and Township and Bingham Township. We’ve received your support; now we’d like your opinion. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
NPS doesn’t care

To the editor: It seems near that most of the residents of Leelanau County opposed the extension of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The 4.2-mil extension will costs $15.5 million — that is $700 per foot! Remember the 1970s? The NPS has a history of pressing on with initiatives regardless of what people thing, Chuck Bond Maple City. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
Passing notes
Passing notes
To the editor: Passing notes about the date of a follow up interview and when an ongoing presentation started? Congratulations Enterprise on your big scoop right before the election. After all, It would be dangerous to reelect a commissioner so misguided as to ask the clerk for the date of a future meeting. 08/21/2024 09:15 PM
