What they do…
What they do…
To the editor: Board Chair Ty Wessell, bypassed all three female Democrat commissioners and overlooked the most experienced commission, Melinda Lautner, a woman, in order to nominate the least experienced commissioner, Doug Rexroat, to be Vice Chair, a man who didn’t event vote for himself. One of the reasons Jamie Kramer gave her resignation was that she had been ignored and overlooked by Chairman Wessell. 10/23/2024 06:26 PM

Enhance what we have
To the editor: Oh please! Let’s use what we already have — we don’t need “Porta Johns” in our parking lot on the village Main Street. The two bathrooms we presently have — Haserot Park and playground are both centrally located ad available to the public. 10/23/2024 06:26 PM

Support for Tim O’Non
To the editor: I attended last Thursday’s Leelanau League of Women Voter’s candidate forum. After hearing the candidates, it became indubitably obvious to the most casual observer that Tim O’Non is the only qualified candidate for drain commissioner. 10/23/2024 06:26 PM

Soaking in the last of the colors
Fall is ever fleeting and so is the color. Nothing is better than taking a drive on the Leelanau Peninsula during prime fall color. 10/23/2024 06:26 PM

To the editor: Whether you call it climate change or global warming it impacts us all and it is negatively affecting our planet and our future. Have you noticed how most of our weather events are so extreme. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

To the editor: Ty Wessell says he’s reduced taxes and improved teamwork on the County Board, but the numbers tell a different story. Spending is up, and taxes have followed. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

We’re in this together
Earlier this year while it was still hot and humid, I was riding my bicycle on the Leelanau Trail near Mawby Vineyards and Winery when I heard the thud-thud-thud of a flat tire hitting pavement behind me. “Oh no, not again,” I thought. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM

Ross active/dedicated
Ross active/dedicated
To the editor: ACTIONS speak louder than words! Kama Ross has been a very active and dedicated County Commissioner. Personally, I appreciate her leadership and involvement working to resolve the safety issue of M22 between M204 and Leland. 10/16/2024 08:25 PM
