G-L Woman’s Club awards 7 scholarships
The Glen Lake Woman’s Club awarded seven college scholarships to graduating Glen Lake seniors who will attend Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) during the Glen Lake Awards Night last week. One additional student, who took a “gap” year after graduating in 2023, and two third-year students received scholarships after successfully completing their second year of college courses at NMC.

Glen Lake adopts 2024-25 budget early
The Glen Lake Board of Education is the first of four county school districts to adopt the 2024-2025 budget, before classes are recessed for the summer. The board voted unanimously last week to adopt the spending plan for the new school year which begins July 1.

Prospectors award scholarships

Sign petition
To the editor: Do you love TART Trails AND Sleeping Bear Dunes? Unfortunately, we must choose between the two regarding the proposed extension of the Heritage Trail because dunes at the north end of the National Park face destruction in order to (someday?) connect the bike trail across to Suttons Bay. The 22 mile Heritage Trail will soon get 4 more miles if the National Park/TART Trail plan goes forward.
