To the editor:
It has been three years since the January 6, 2021 assault on the Capitol of the United States. As a fiscal conservative Republican, I believe people who planned and participated in this assault should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Nonviolent protests, however, help keep our democracy strong.
Since that date numerous letters have been written by Democrats condemning this assault as a “threat to our democracy.”
I have written numerous letters to the editor asking for ONE Democrat to condemn the open border policy allowed to flourish under the Biden Administration. To date I have not seen a letter from a Democrat condemning the release of 8 to 10 million people from over 100 countries enter our country seeking assylum. This does not include “got aways.”
They are given a court date usually seven years or more from the date they entered.
These people are given a cell phone, a place to reside, food and medical care. How much does this cost a nation already $34 trillion bollars in debt. No estimate of the total cost of this open door policy seems to exist. In the meantime, people who have done through the process legally have to wait in line.
Thus, aren’t the policies of this adminstration the greatest threat to our democracy? My nonviolent protest and common sense dictate a resounding YES!
