A little rain, and a warmer temperature, and everybody’s attitude changes. It’s happier and happier, however we are still in winter and we are going to get more. Keep the happy attitude as you deal with the weather in the north.
Looking for something to do? Experienced the Park After Dark, Explore Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore at night on a candlelit winter hike on Saturday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dune Climb. Arrive anytime between 6 and 7:30 p.m. to enjoy the full experience. The hike will take place regardless of snow conditions. If there is adequate snow, this will be a snowshoe hike. This is put on by Park Rangers and volunteers of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
We’re all looking forward to Winterfest! The chili cook-off and perch fishing contest on the deck at Boonedocks in Glen Arbor on Saturday, February 17 from noon until 3 p.m. or until the chili runs out. This is always a fun, flavorful showdown in celebration of winter in northern Michigan, dress for the weather, good chili good times, good music.
Not much going on right now. But don’t get too comfortable it’s still winter in the north and to all the Michigan football fans quit sulking. It is the first time your team has been in a playoff in over 30 years deal with it. I say this as a Chicago Bears fan.
Happy Birthday wishes to Paul Walters, Olivia DuPont, Holly Reay, Art’s famous Tim Barr, and to Mitchel and Merek Roman, same day different years. Also birthday wishes to Jerry Solon, Islam Stephenson and of course Ronald Reagan and William Henry Harrison. Also a day to be remembered January 27th is International Day of Commemoration of Memory Of The Victims Of The Holocaust, a terrible thing in our past.
The elections are coming up, and Will Rogers said “The short memories of the American voters is what keeps our politicians in office.”
Stay warm, stay safe, walk like a penguin on the ice.
Go Patriotism.
