St. Mary students shine at BPA

The Lake Leelanau St. Mary Business Professionals of America (BPA) brought home several honors from the regional BPA competition Jan. 20 at Central Michigan University.

BPA’s goal is to develop and empower student leaders by creating opportunities in learning, professional growth and service. BPA is part of an education program designed to provide high school students with skills and competencies relevant to today’s business environment. Below are the St. Mary School student results.

• Della Bunek, Sarah Bunek, Jacqueline Hearne, Cathryn Mikowski: Website Design Team – First place.

• Adrienne Ackley, Garrick Collins, James Licht: Administrative Support Team – Second place.

• Collins: Fundamental Word Processing – First place.

• Anthony Grant: Fundamental Accounting – First place.

• Leah Fleis: Administrative Support Concepts as well as Integrated Office Application – Second place.

• Eli Kelenske, Jerry Schaub: Financial Analyst Team – Second place.

• Mikowski: Intermediate Word Processing – Second place

• Della Bunek: Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications – Third place.

• Grant: Banking & Finance – Third place.

• Daniel Chaney, Adalyn Graham, William Krusel, Madelyn Hamilton: Presentation Team – Third place
