To the editor:
A few members and supporters of Saving Birds Thru Habitat already know that I have retired from my position as Executive Director. As I make my announcement more broadly, I want to thank all of you who have provided generous financial support, office assistance and efforts for projects on the grounds. Most of all, I want to express my deep appreciation for the 50 or so volunteers who worked on the “barn raising” for our Habitat Discovery Center years ago — as well as the three men who spent additional days finishing the work: my late husband, Jim Charter and his lifelong friends Marlin Bussey and Ralph Kalchik.
Thanks also to those early Board Members, especially the first two presidents: Marlin Bussey and Gina Erb who set us on our path to the success we have enjoyed.
There is one thing I am not putting in the rearview mirror; although I am retiring, I will still be available to answer questions about details of birds’ lives.
If you have a question about birds, you can email me at bobolink2000@ gmail.com and I will do my best to find the right answer for you.
In the meantime, spend a little time looking out your windows, and if you find a bird, use your bird book to figure out its identification. If you don’t have a bird book, get one. You will be happy you did.
