Poet C. Scott Mills will read from his book “Drift Gestures” at noon, Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Leland Township Library.
“Drift Gestures” is Mills’ first book and a collection of 42 poems emerging from the dunes and swales of the Leelanau peninsula, in all seasons.
In his poetry and prose, mills explores land and the imagination, pattern and recurrence, myth, and a spirited human participants in this much-morethan- human world.
During the summer months, he does fieldwork on Nation Manitou Island with nesting population of piping plovers there are part of the Great Lakes Piping Plover Recovery effort.
The program will be held in the Munnecke Room of the Leland Township Library.
Registration is not required.
