Trails Day project set

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore) invites those interested in assisting the park to join in a National Trails Day project on Saturday, June 7.

Park Rangers will meet participants at the Shauger Hill Trailhead parking lot at 9 a.m. and will conclude at noon. The project will put the finishing touches on this year’s cleanup of Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive’s Lake Michigan Overlook. For more project details, go to: calendar event page.

There is no registration required, however, the project will be limited to the first 40 people to arrive. All children under the age of 18 are required to have an adult present during the event. Volunteers will receive free National Lakeshore entry for the day of the event.

National Trails Day is the nation’s largest trails event, with millions participating across the country, pledging to care for our public lands. National Trails Day is a great opportunity to get outside with friends and family and enjoy the park while helping to protect a special place.
