The Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes will host a National Trails Day event, Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail in Glen Haven.
This year, the Friends will also have an information tent at Good Harbor Beach.
National Trails Day, the nation’s largest trails event, has been encouraging all to leave the trails better than how they found them for more than 30 years.
Participants are invited to help the Friends report on the status of every trail within the Park during the event.
To participate, visit the Friends’ tent at the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail in Glen Haven to register.
Participants will receive swag from the Friends and the American Hiking Society (while supplies last) and learn about additional opportunities to support the Park and volunteer with the Friends.
