Glen Lake School’s Class of 2025 was awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships at a ceremony May 22.
The following are the scholarships awarded in alphabetical order:
• Bates/Carlson Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Margaret Diotte.
• Career Tech Academic Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Ethan Verschaeve.
• Career Tech Jack & Barb Drew Memorial Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Peyton Brown.
• Career Tech Dick Asiala Memorial Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Auburn Schut.
• Career Tech Vincent J. Schafer Memorial Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship. The recipient was Ethan Verschaeve.
• Cedar Chamber of Commerce Scholarship: Five $1,500 scholarships. The recipients were Noah Scott, Auburn Schut, Isaac Hlavka, La’Tila Shimek, and Madelynn Plamondon.
• Cedar/Maple City Lion’s Club Scholarship: Two $500 scholarships. The recipients were Margaret Diotte and Boden Fisher.
• Cedar/Maple City Lion’s Club Trades Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Ethan Verschaeve.
• Chief John R. DePuy Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Braden Roush.
• Coaches Miller/Christiansen Honorary Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Isaac Hlavka.
• Debbie Morawski Memorial Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Braden Roush.
• Dr. Alonzo Norconk Memorial Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Kyra Lamb.
• Dr. Matthew A. and Barbara A. Houghton Medical Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Benjamin Allen.
• Drake Hendershot Memorial Boonedocks Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Sullivan Seymour.
• Ed & Irene Fleis Education Fund Scholarship: Three $1200.00 scholarships. The recipients were Margaret Diotte, Raja Arnold-Timberman and Braden Roush.
• Ella Noonan Scholarship: Two $500 scholarships. The recipients were Auburn Schut and Braden Roush.
• Empire Lion’s Club Scholarship: Five $500 scholarships. The recipients were Keaton LaCross, Jessie Pugh, Isaac Hlavka, Benjamin Allen and Braden Roush.
• Eric Knoll Memorial Boonedocks Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Sullivan Seymour.
• Glen Arbor Women’s Club Scholarship: Seven $2,400 scholarships. The recipients were Hunter Read, Auburn Schut, Noah Scott, Emanuela Alaimo, Wade Daniels, Sullivan Seymour and Austin O’Connor.
• Glen Arbor Women’s Club Tim Westbay Memorial Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Emanuela Alaimo.
• Glen Lake Chili Cook-Off Scholarship: Five $1,000 scholarships. The recipients were Sullivan Seymour, La’Tila Shimek, Sienna Bailey, Michael Houtteman and Wade Daniels. Eleven $500 scholarships. The recipients were Luca Aucello, Peter Gelsinger, Keaton LaCross, Madelynn Plamondon, Austin O’Connor, Hunter Read, Benjamin Allen, Isaac Hlavka, Kyra Lamb, Anderson Stansberry and Alexander Eaton.
• Glen Lake Federation of Teachers Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Auburn Schut.
• Glen Lake Parent-Teacher Organization Scholarship: Two $1,000 scholarships. The recipients were Sienna Bailey and Alexander Eaton.
• Glen Lake Woman’s Club Janice Freeman Memorial Scholarship: One $2,500 scholarship. The recipient was Cooper Ritter.
• Glen Lake Woman’s Club Jeanine Wessinger Dean Scholarship: One $2,500 scholarship. The recipient was Ethan Verschaeve.
• Glen Lake Woman’s Club Scholarship: Three $2,000 scholarships. The recipients were Jazmin Sequiera-Granizo, Madelynn Plamondon and Jessie Pugh. Two $1,000 scholarships. The recipients were Peyton Brown and Hunter Read.
• Grace McNeil Memorial Boonedocks Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Addisen LaPaugh.
• GTRCF Ed and Nessa Laing Scholarship. One $1,100 scholarship. The recipient was Austin O’Connor.
•J&CScienceandEngineering Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Alexander Eaton.
• Jack Rader/Tom Schmidt/ Jacky Wilcox Memorial Scholarship: One $700.00 scholarship. The recipient was Keaton LaCross.
• James V. Dorsey Memorial Scholarship: One $700.00 scholarship. The recipient was Cooper Ritter.
• Jean Dean Memorial Scholarship: One $400 scholarship. The recipient was Raja Arnold-Timberman.
• Joey Courson Memorial Boonedocks Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Addisen LaPaugh.
• John Schlosser Memorial Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Peter Gelsinger.
• Kenneth and Mary Lou Hughes Memorial Scholarship: One $3,500 renewable scholarship. The recipient was Anderson Stansberry.
• Laker Heart Scholarship (Glen Lake Foundation): Two $1,500 scholarships. The recipients were Alexander Eaton and Auburn Schut.
• Logan McDonough Memorial Scholarship: Two $1,000 scholarships. The recipients were Sullivan Seymour and La’Tila Shimek.
• Max Miller Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Wade Daniels.
• Melissa Dempsey Memorial Scholarship: One $650 scholarship. The recipient was Jazmin Sequiera-Granizo.
• Mike DePuy Memorial Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Ethan Verschaeve.
• Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) Art & Mary Schmuckal Endowment Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Raja Arnold-Timberman.
• NMC Commitment Scholarship: This scholarship covers general tuition and fees at NMC for two years. The recipients were Peyton Brown and Hunter Read.
• NMC Keith & Gail Evans Family Scholarship: One $500 scholarship. The recipient was Jazmin Sequiera-Granizo.
• Norman and Mary Welch Memorial Scholarship: Three $1,000 scholarships. The recipients were Peyton Brown, La’Tila Shimek and Raja Arnold-Timberman.
• Pauline Pardee Baccalaureate Degree Scholarship: Two $2,000 scholarships. The recipients were Austin O’Connor and Anderson Stansberry.
• Pauline Pardee Technical Education Scholarship: Four $1000 scholarships. The recipients were Hunter Read, Ethan Verschaeve, Addisen LaPaugh and Jazmin Sequiera-Granizo.
• Sarah Dunn Johnson Memorial Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Luca Aucello.
• State Savings Bank Scholarship: One $2,000 scholarship. The recipient was Peyton Brown.
• Suttons Bay Conservation League Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Austin O’Connor.
• Thomas & Clarissa Foster “Graduating Leaders” Scholarship: Two $5,000 scholarships. The recipients were Michael Houtteman and Auburn Schut.
• Tommy Reay Good Human Scholarship: Seven $1,000 scholarships. The recipients were La’Tila Shimek, Michael Houtteman, Wade Daniels, Sienna Bailey, Alexander Eaton, Benjamin Allen and Noah Scott.
• True Laker Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship. The recipient was Emanuela Alaimo.
