District Forester Ellie Johnson will co-hosting a tree planting with ReLeaf Michigan on Friday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to noon at Veronica Valley park (4243 S. Lake Leelanau Dr. #3885, Lake Leelanau, MI 49653).
Twenty Michigan native trees will be planted from 1.5-2 inch container or ball and burlap stock, around the front pond.
This is a volunteer effort with most attendees being landowners who participate in Leelanau County through the Forestry Assistance Program, and some local natural resource professionals.
