The Traverse City Coast Guard Auxiliary will host a 3-hour class on knots Thursday, May 1.
The 3-hour class on mariner knots, boat radio and weather is offered to those interested in learning more about tying knots, working marine radios and watching and understanding the weather that affects boaters.
Discussion will include the most common types of boating accidents and practical marine knots and radio operation.
The class is slated for 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10.
