To the editor:
Yes, it is almost Christmas and what is the greatest gift you have ever received? Something you treasure and are most thankful for.
For me the gift was my parents, Flora and Joe. During 1944 my father was overseas in England with the Royal Air Force. He was guiding aircraft over the English Channel off the coast of Normandy, France. My mother had me arrive on March 21, 1944, the first day of spring. My father was with General Patton when the City of Paris was liberated. He then went to Belgium and Germany. He did not see me until I was two years old.
As a child my parents cared well for me. My husband and I have raised two children and passed on the gift. Wow, the greatest gift passes on to our grandchildren, that are not young adults. Will you promise to pass on this gift to your children?
