Pub crawl memories; Chili cook-off Sunday

It was another short spring. One day. I know this is no surprise for most of us, but a little taste of sunshine and warmth gets us ready for spring.

Another day when almost everyone is Irish and ready for a pub crawl. The first pub crawl I have a record of was March 3, 2004. These were actual pub crawls, as a group the crawlers would start at a pub and as a group continue to the next pub. These were usually led by Tim Barr and one year we all jumped into cars and went to the Homestead as a pub participant. We would always end at Arts for music EveryonewasIrishfora day, even an Englishman like me.

Looking forward, April 25th to May 3rd , Glen Arbor Restaurant week. Put it on your calendar and make reservations when ready.

Next, the Glen Arbor Arts Center Outdoor Gallery Panel Auction, April 22-24th.

Don’t forget the Chili Cook-off at the Empire Township Hall Saturday March 22 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Happy Birthday wishes to Mike Taghon, Sally Ann Morris, Bruce Lichliter, Pam Warnes, Dennis Palmer, Michael Duncan, Ranae Ihme, Larry Whitfield and Ron Hacker.

I agree with Winston Churchill, the difference between a liberal and a conservative is about 20 years.

Spring is on the way, stay safe, be careful. be happy, Go Patriotism
