A 43-year-old Suttons Bay man was arrested after a traffic stop last week in Wexford County.
Michigan State troopers from the Cadillac Post stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on E. M-115 Hwy. near South Mack Trail in Clam Lake Township.
The driver of the vehicle, Misheka J. Floyd, was driving on a revoked driver’s license and Gun Lake Tribal Public Safety had an active warrant for his arrest.
Troopers instructed Floyd to exit the vehicle. He then rolled up the window. Troopers opened the door and Floyd stepped out of the vehicle.
He lunged back inside the vehicle headfirst, and troopers had to remove him from the vehicle.
Once Floyd was secured in handcuffs a search of his vehicle was conducted. Inside the vehicle the troopers found a duffel bag containing a digital scale, a white powdery substance residue, three smaller baggies containing a white powdery substance, and several unused plastic baggies. One of the baggies tested positive for cocaine.
Floyd was lodged in the Wexford County Jail before he was arraigned on one count possession of cocaine (second or subsequent notice); one count driving while license revoked, and one count resisting and obstructing police.
His bond was set at $100,00 cash/surety. His next scheduled court appearance is Feb. 11.
