Wednesday, Jan. 15

12:41 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller found trash bin open when she arrived home last night. Thought it was suspicious. When she checked, three trash bags were no longer there. But pickup doesn’t usually happen until Friday. Concerned that someone is mining personal information or financial data.

1:32 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Suspicious person walking around outside and peering into windows. (No public disturbance occurred, according to law enforcement.)

Thursday, Jan. 16

3:38 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Runaway juvenile who cut tether earlier in the night now wants to turn himself in.

11:51 a.m. — Bingham Township — Caller reports seeking an individual standing out by the road. Didn’t appear to be properly dressed for conditions.

3:34 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller reporting verbal harassment of daughter.

7:54 p.m. — Solon Township — Two large, black dogs were out in the road. (Caller picked them up and knocked on doors to find owner.) Returned to owner.

9:38 p.m. — Solon Township — Individual has had her dogs loose and out on the road a couple of times tonight.

Friday, Jan. 17

8:29 a.m. — Bingham Township — Silver Toyota Tacoma went into the trees between Fort and Lee Point roads. Driver is not injured. (Road Commission contacted to throw some material down in this area.)

8:47 a.m. — Leland Township — Caller would like to speak with an office regarding a threat assessment.

3:21 p.m. — Centerville Township — Found Great Pyrennes, orange collar, black Carhartt jacket. (Caller going to keep holding onto the dogs.)

4:32 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Cell phone repeating owner of an iPhone was in an accident. (Male in custody.)

4:49 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller received a letter from the Children’s Advocacy Center advising neighbors there is a potential pedophile in the neighborhood. (Contact made with caller and offered suggestions of what he could do.)

Saturday, Jan. 18

2:24 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller reports a possible drunk driver in a silver Dodge Durango. Saw at the gas station.

10:51 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Son is being scammed by someone he met on TikTok.

1:44 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller had a space heater plugged in and can smell burning wires a few hours ago. Now it still smelling, but it isn’t hot.

2:37 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller wants to speak with an officer regarding a process server who came to the residence.

Sunday, Jan. 19

10:06 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — German Shepherd running down M-22. Looks like it has swollen eyes. (Owner just pulled up.)

12:09 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller stuck in the snow bank. Hyundai Tucson.

2:40 p.m. — Centerville Township — Silver van in the ditch.

3:52 p.m. — Centerville Township — Dark-colored Subaru Forester in the ditch.

7:17 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Vehicle up on guardrail. Friend coming to tow out vehicle. Did strike a Road Commission sign, but it’s still upright.

7:22 p.m. —Leelanau Township — Vehicle in the ditch. (Someone pushed out.)

7:25 p.m. — Solon Township — Sedan in the ditch at this intersection. Damage to vehicle.

7:14 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Dark-colored Jeep doing doughnuts on Fouch Road. (Deputy trying to catch up. Whiteout conditions.)

11:03 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Orangeish glow coming from the north side of th e ski hill by the lodge off Timberlee. Nothing showing. (No evidence of fire at this building. Just a light on the north side.)

Monday, Jan. 20

1:37 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Subject is causing problems at the house. Caller would like her removed. (One in custody on Leelanau County warrant.)

10:13 a.m. — Solon Township — Vehicle rear-ended by plow.

11:36 a.m. — Kasson Township — Four-door sedan. Darker color. In the ditch. Second passerby reported the vehicle was stuck in a snowbank. Driver was uninjured and he was advised, by the caller, to keep his seatbelt on and contact a wrecker.

12:20 p.m. — Centerville Township — Subject has caller’s mail and will not give it back.

2:07 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller reports stolen handgun.

4:47 p.m. —Bingham Township — Vehicle in the ditch. (Tow truck already there. No damage to vehicle. Will stand by while tow truck removed it from the ditch.)

6:31 p.m. — Leland Township — Domestic. (Male half in custody.)

Tuesday, Jan. 21

6:04 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Black Subaru Forester in the ditch. Closing M-22 at Jelinek for a few minutes for vehicle removal.

3:07 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Saw a youth standing out by the road near the trailer park who was dressed in shirt and pants.

4:36 p.m. — Caller was run off the road by someone driving over the center line. White truck.

5:27 p.m. — Bingham Township — Dog outside law few days. Dog is curled up in a ball on the porch on a chain. (Pet owner spoken to.)

Wednesday, Jan. 22

9:29 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller was presented a fake $100 bill in a drop-off transaction and was processed later in the day and discovered.

9:41 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Rollover accident. Person can’t get out of the minivan; single male occupant now out.

2:02 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Gray Chevy truck, nicked street pole. Unoccupied. Damage is on the front underside of the bumper. Tow rope, 1.5 feet, snapped off the hitch.

2:03 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Two-car crash. Blocking traffic. Truck rearended by another vehicle.

6:22 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller’s dog was attacked and its very expensive collar was taken. Bit by one of the dogs.

Thursday, Jan. 23

6:41 a.m. — Deer ran into the side of caller’s vehicle.

Friday, Jan. 24

8:47 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Pit-mix found tied to a fence at the end of the driveway.

9:11 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller had an issue with a customer last night. (Subject was contacted and formally trespassed.)

10:25 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Domestic.

5:01 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller received a threatening phone call. Said horrible things to caller.

Saturday, Jan 25

2 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller went around corner and vehicle was coming at him at the same time. Clipped caller’s bumper. But they are no longer there.

2:16 p.m. — Centerville Township — Domestic unrest.

5:33 p.m. — Bingham Township — Vehicle stuck at bottom of hill. Gray Toyota Corolla.

8:28 p.m. —Leland Township — White truck stuck on the side of the road. Trying to get out of the ditch.

8:56 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Trying to get an aggressive male out of the restaurant.

9:05 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Arrest made for operating while intoxicated.

Sunday, Jan. 26

2:39 a.m. — Empire Township — Caller’s vehicle ran out of gas while he was trying to get his parent’s car unstuck from the ditch.

11:37 a.m. — Elmwood Township — Two youths are snowboarding on a newly-constructed staircase. (On arrival no one around.)

6:56 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller reports seeing a flashlight southeast of her home. Light has since disappeared. Would like the property checked.

Monday, Jan. 27

7:13 a.m. — Empire Township — Three vehicles stuck in the middle of the road. No one hit. (Cars are all free but the road is still plugged shut.)

8:24 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Vehicles stuck in the middle of the roadway in drifts. Look to be getting themselves out. But smaller vehicle is still there. (Road Commission notified of drifting.

2:11 p.m. — Kasson Township — Elderly man into the ditch 30 yards off the road. (No damage but buried “pretty good.”) 6:37 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller is planning to terminate an employee and concerned that he may cause a scene. (Subject left. No issues.)
