A Thompsonville woman was arraigned this week on three charges stemming from an August vehicle crash in which she was involved.
Jada White pleaded not guilty at her Circuit Court arraignment Monday to possession of methamphetamine/ ecstacy; operating while intoxicated causing serious injury; and use of narcotic/cocaine/ecstacy.
White was the driver of one of the involved vehicles in a two-car accident, Aug. 19 on M-204 and Popp Road. According to police reports, her vehicle was westbound on 204 when she attempted a u-turn in front of a truck, causing a collision. The occupants of the truck were not seriously injured.
However, White was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken pelvis. Her boyfriend passenger was also seriously injured.
Following the crash, deputies went to White’s glove box looking for her registration and insurance information and found drug paraphrenalia, marijuana and a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue.
A warrant was issued for a blood sample from White which revealed the presence of meth, amphetamine, THC and hydromorephone.
She was charged with possession of meth, a 10-year felony; operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, a 5-year felony and use of a narcotic, a 1-year offense.
