Chris DeJong was reelected president of the Suttons Bay Board of Education this week.
DeJong was nominated by trustee Liz Venie to continue leading the board in 2025.
Venie was reelected vice-president; trustee Maureen Fletcher, secretary and Lee Grant, treasurer.
In other organizational business the board:
• Agreed to continue meeting the second Monday of the month at 6 p.m.
• Designated 5/3 Bank, MILAF (Michigan Liquid Asset Fund), Huntington Bank and Independent Bank as its depository.
• Retained Thrun Lawfirm as its legal counsel.
• Designated business manager Cris Porter as its recording secretary.
• Established a Freedom of Information fee schedule at a rate of $30 per hour.
• Adopted a mileage reimbursement of 67 cents per mile, the Internal Revenue Service standard.
In other business, the oath of office was administered to Venie, Eric Mattis and newlyelected member, Doug Comer.
There is still a vacancy on the board due to a lack of candidates for the November election.

Deadline for applications is Monday, Jan. 20. A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Jan. 27.
The appointee will serve through the November election.
