Students at Pathfinder School will participate in a day of community service, Monday, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The initiative is part of the school’s ongoing commitment to instilling values of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility in its students.
“At Pathfinder, service is a cornerstone of our values,” said Taryn Carew, advancement director at Pathfinder. “We look forward to this special day of learning and giving back as we come together the honor Dr. King’s vision for a just and compassionate society.”Throughout the day, students will engage in various service activities with community partners. These activities include:
• Orchard Creek Nursing Home — Connecting with residents through stories, songs, and activities.
• Leelanau Christian Neighbors Baby Pantry — Assisting with the organization of donations from a school-wide baby item drive.
• Project Feed the Kids — Preparing meals for local families in need.
• Grand Traverse Conservation District — Support conservation efforts through outdoor service projects.
• Soup Kitchen at Alluvian — Helping prepare and serve meals.
• Oleson’s Food Store — Hosting food drives at two locations to support families in the community.
• Cherryland Humane Society — Assisting with animal care and other tasks at the shelter.
• Reigning Liberty Horse Ranch — Supporting activities that promote equine therapy.
