The Front Porch in Suttons Bay will host its fourth annual Leelanau Suds-Raiser, a special event that blends community spirit with a great cause Jan. 23 to 26.
This tradition was created as a tribute to the original owner, Bobbi Eggert, whose passion for help inspired the founding of the Leelanau Laundry Project.
The project supports residents of Leelanau County who lack the resources to do their own laundry. Through this project, countless individuals and families have received the help they need to maintain dignity and comfort in their daily lives.
“The Leelanau Suds-Raiser holds a special place in our heart as it honors the legacy of our store’s original owner and her dedication to making a difference,” Front Porch owner Amy Peterson said. “We’re proud to continue this tradition and invite our customers to join us in supporting such a meaningful cause.”
The Front Porch will accept donations of laundry supplies or monetary contribution to benefit the Leelanau Laundry Project. In exchange, donors will receive a 20% discount on their purchases at the store.
Suggested laundry supply donations include: laundry detergent (liquid or powder); fabric softener/dryer sheet; stain removers; laundry baskets or hampers; and bleach.
Monetary donations of any amount are also accepted and will go directly to the Leelanau Laundry Project to fund their ongoing efforts. Checks can be made payable to United Way of Northwest Michigan (Memo: LCFCC Laundry Project.)
