Empire Township has a new supervisor.
Retired physician David Hendricks topped incumbent supervisor Carl (Bucky) Noonan 576-398, garnering 60% of votes.
“I’m pleased with the (winning) Democrats across the county,” Hendricks said. “We have a lot of talented people … a good board and I’m looking to the future.”
He will be joined on the township board by Democrat Kathy Wiejaczka, who topped a field of four candidates for two seats. She received 601 votes, with the second seat going to Casey Noonan, a Republican who was the second top vote-getter with 379.
Incumbent Micah Deegan had 351 votes, outpacing Chris Wright with 236 votes. Wright ran without party affiliation.
In Centerville Township two new board members were elected from a field of four. Democrats Paul Winston and Rolf von Walthausen secured 26% and 25% of total ballots cast. Winston came in with 401. von Walthausen had 398 outpacing Jolyn Arens (24.5%) with 378 and Kerry O’Non (23.5%) 363.
In Solon Township there will be a new supervisor and new trustees who will be put to work later this month. Christopher Comeaux, former fire chief, ran unopposed after topping Jim Lautner in the August Primary election.
Republicans Kelly Claar and Steve Morgan, who serve on the Parks & Recreation committee and the township Planning Commissioner respectively, had the same vote tally at 517.
Democratic candidate Mary O’Neill was third with 419 votes.
Kasson Township reelected two Republican trustees — incumbents Roger Noonan had 587 votes of support while sitting trustee Kenneth (Tad) Carter had 516.
Democrat Mike Lanham was third with 508 votes.
In Cleveland Township, incumbent Treasurer Angie Diotte topped challenger Molly Peplinski 62.8% to 36.7%.
All successful township candidates will be sworn in Nov. 20.
