There are several races in Leelanau County with candidates running unopposed in the upcoming general election on Nov. 5, ensuring their roles for another term.

Below are a list of candidates that are running uncontested for their respective positions at the county level: Steve Paciorka, who is nonparty-affiliated, is running unopposed for the position of Leelanau County Probate Court judge. The current Probate Court Judge Marian Kromkowski was elected for a four year term in 2018, but cannot run again this year as the state constitution dictates that no one over 70-years-old shall be elected or appointed to judicial office.

Paciorka currently serves within the 13th Circuit Court as juvenile and domestic Circuit Court referee, handling juvenile cases for Grand Traverse County and domestic cases from all three counties in the court. He has also practiced as associate attorney with Sterling Law Office in Traverse City.

Leelanau County Sheriff Mike Borkovich, a Republican, is also running unopposed this year. He was first elected to the office in 2012 and won reelection to a second term in 2016. This will be his fourth four-year term serving in the sheriff role.

Incumbent Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Hubbell will be running in the election unopposed as a Republican. He has served in the role since 2004 and this will be his sixth four-year term in office.

Leelanau County Treasurer John Gallagher III, a republican, is another incumbent running in the election unopposed. Gallagher III has been serving in his position since 2012. The incumbent county clerk, Michelle Crocker, also a Republican, is running unopposed. Crocker has served in the role as county clerk since 1996, so this will be her eighth four-year term.
