Four percent raises for nonaffiliated (non-union) staff members were approved this week by the Leland Board of Education.
The board, during their regular monthly meeting Oct. 21, approved the increases which mirror those included in the Leland Education Association contract.
In other business during their 1¼-hour meeting the board:
• Learned the identity of new support staff hires. They are Mary Garcia and Colleen Stephenson, aides; Jeff Staple, aide/kitchen and Kyle Jenson, custodial.
• Agreed to continue participation in the Glen Lake tennis program, cooperatively with Lake Leelanau St. Mary.
• Learned the robotics team will be attending competitions at Lakeview High School Nov. 15 and 16 and Feb. 28 through March 2, 2025.
