The Leelanau County Cancer Fund (LCCF) is benefiting from the Enterprise tribute page for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
“We’re always so helpful for donations that come our way,” said Terry Gremel of the Cancer Fund, which helps cancer patients and families that need help paying non-medical expenses.
These could include a mortgage payment, gift cards, car or appliance repair.
“Not long ago, we had someone whose refrigerator died,” Gremel said. “So we replaced it for them.”
In the past 11 years LCCF has helped nearly 200 county residents; since May 2016 alone LCCF helped neighbors with grants totaling almost $140,000, according to the organization’s website.
