DOWD

A response from District 7 commissioner candidate Tim Dowd which appeared in the Oct. 17 paper contained typographical errors.

Here is the question asked and his response:

1.) As a result of legislation approved by state lawmakers in late 2023, the length of terms for county commissioners jumped from two years to four years. How will this impact governance at the county level?

Dowd: I think that four year terms are a good change because of the time and expense of a political campaign to begin with. Then after a new Board of Commissioners are elected it takes time for the group to organize, decide on Leadership, train any new Commissioners and then start to function to accomplish the work required to have a efficiently operating County government.
