The Glen Lake Library in Empire will host a class on human anatomy for middle school students on Saturday, Nov., 9 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Dr. Tamara Coleman of Northwestern Michigan College will discuss the wonders of the human skeleton, including how it has evolved over time.
Students will also explore the use of bone forensics to help solve science mysteries. Space is limited, so please contact the library to register in advance, at 326-5361 or info@glenlakelibrary. net.
This is the first in a planned series of STEM activities for middle school students (grades 6 to 8), supported with funds donated to the library in memory of the late Dr. Bonnie Sloane Yingst, an accomplished scientist and lifelong library lover.
