The Empire Area Museum Complex will celebrate Heritage Day at the Museum Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Repeat features this year include the fantastic collection of handmade Faberge-type eggs made in Empire in the 1970s by Helen Witt.
Vintage cars, bicycles, tractors, hit and miss engines, and much more fill the grounds around the museum along with old fashioned craft and food demonstrations making this a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family.
Other attractions include a wood workshop; blacksmith shop; turn-of-the-century saloon; one-room school; firehouse and Bill Beeman Barn filled with many pieces of horsedrawn equipment. You can also wash clothes in the old-fashioned way (with a gas-powered motor).
Tom Plasman’s 1956 Oldmobile ‘98 Dune Car will also be on display and Moomers ice cream will be served with sales benefiting them museum.
Admission to Heritage Day is free; however, donations are encouraged.
