A Cedar area couple will mark 50 years of marriage next week.
Dale and Joan (Fleis) Gauthier were married Oct. 19, 1972 at Holy Rosary Church. The Rev. Arthur Mulka officiated.
Both were born and raised in Leelanau County, graduated from Glen Lake School; Dale in 1971 and Joan in 1973.
Dale retired as an over the road truck driver in 2015.
Joan retired from Munson Medical Center in 2018 after 23 years employment. She also serves as the Solon Township Treasurer.
The couple has three sons: Robert (Deedz) of Cedar; Russell (Marissa) of Howell and Dale (Jenny Oesterling). They have four grandchildren: Cabrini, Jack, Henry and Savannah.
An anniversary celebrate will be held with family and friends Oct. 19.
