The Leelanau Township Community Foundation (LTCF) announced more than $25,000 in grant awards last week.

The foundation approved the following grants:

• Peninsula Housing (Suttons Bay), recipient of a $25,000 grant from the General Endowment Fund to help fund the purchase of an affordable home in Northport, as part of Peninsula Housing’s land trust program. LTCF supports Peninsula Housing’s commitment to providing affordable housing for area residents as attainable housing remains the foundation’s #1 priority area.

• Northport Public School (Northport), recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Youth Endowment Fund to support the National Honor Society’s “Fill the Bus” program, in which students receive essential school supplies and gifts through the start of the new year.

• Leelanau Christian Neighbors (Lake Leelanau), recipient of a $356 grant from the Youth Endowment Fund to help complete the purchase of manual can openers to provide to families receiving canned goods from the organization’s food pantry.

LTCF encourages non-profit organizations operating in Leelanau Township – or whose work benefits township residents – to apply for grants via the Foundation’s online portal: LeelanauFoundation.org/applyfor- a-grant
