The Old Art Building (OAB) in Leland has a number of events to put on your fall calendars.
The first, scheduled for 6:30 tonight, is part of a cooperative agreement with the Traverse City International Affairs Forum.
“Putin’s Provocations: Threats to Global Security” is the title of a forum featuring Fiona Hill, a senior fellow — Foreign Policy, Center on the United States and Europe.
She is a former deputy assistant to the president and senior director for European and Russian affairs on the U.S. Nation Security Council.
A 6 p.m. wine reception will precede the event at the OAB.
This program is free. Donations will be accepted.
A Special Live Event is scheduled for Wednesday Oct. 3 at the OAB. An evening with Australia Consul-General Chris Elstoft will focus on U.S. Australian relations: Submarines, Climate Change & Trade in the Indo-Pacific. A wine and cheese reception is set for 6 p.m. with program starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person.
This will be followed on Oct. 9 by a program on Global Migration & The Southern Border. Alan Bersin, Ph.D former assistant secretary of Office of Policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is also former commissioner of U.S, Customs and Border Protection.
For this event, the 6:30 p.m. program will be live-streamed from the OAB after a 6 p.m. wine reception.
The speaker series will conclude Nov. 14 with “The Energy Landscape Amidst Climate Change.”
John Pournoor Ph.D is the featured speaker. He is CEO and founder of Government Analytica.
Next week the OAB Open Studio Exhibit opens and runs through Oct. 3.
On Nov. 5, Lamb’s Leland Songwriters will perform a special concert, at 7 p.m., at the OAB. Featured performers are Michael Camp, Robby Hecht, Michael McNevin, Grace Pettis, Abigayle Kompst, Sadie Gustafson-Zook and artist-inresidence from Lamb’s Retreat for songwriters.
