Grandparents Day, 9/11 anniversary coming up

I know this is past , but I hope everyone enjoyed the bridge walk. I’m sure everyone knows this is number 29 and I’m also sure everyone will enjoy a number 30. Ours is known as the original small town bridge wall. There are many more now, if there’s a puddle, small stream etc. There’s a bridge walk but we were the first and we are the best.

This is the time of year I call locals time. Most of the crowds have disappeared and businesses are still open, weather is still good and we can enjoy where we live.

Another date important to some of us, the first Sunday following Labor Day celebrate grandparents day. We kind of like that day.

Another important date to me and to many others that I know of, 9/11. They must never forget, many of you know exactly where you were when the Trade Center came down and thousands of lives were lost. I think it’s unfortunate that many of our young people really don’t understand the significance of that date. Every house, every business proudly flew the American flag, cars were flying the American flag and people young and old were proud and angry and not afraid to show patriotism.

I sincerely hope we as a nation are still able to show and be proud of our patriotism. It never gets old.

Happy Birthday wishes to John Stewart, Ronnie Hazelton, Dick Hilton, Frank Sciannella, former Mayor John Soderholm, Brad Smith, Barbara Siepker, Christy Marshall, Tom Fordyce, Mike and Matt O’Brien, Jan Heston, and Dave Diller. A special belated happy birthday wish to Bill Bolton celebrating 93.

Happy Anniversary wishes to Sylvia and Bob Jones, Mel and Chris Martin, Ronnie and Ross Hazelton, Mel and Chris Richardson, and Nancy and Fred Luthardt. Congratulations to all.

Winston Churchill said ”The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent vice of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

Be kind. Be happy. Be safe. Be proud.

Go Patriotism.
