We are coming to the end of our summer. The athletes have gone back to school getting ready for the season.
Enjoy the Glen Lake Fall Flannel Festival on Saturday Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Cider and donuts, pig roast, plant and pumpkin sale and Glen Lake Spirit Wear, cash only.
The Glen Lake sports are getting ready, the and if you are interested in watching, the next game: Football plays tonight at Manton 7 p.m.; soccer today at T-C West; cross country, Sat., Sept. 7 at Buckley; tennis, Saturday at T-C West; volleyball Thursday, Sept. 5 at Lake Leelanau St. Mary.
The end of the summer means Bridge Walk 2024. This will be the 29th now sponsored by Empire Area Community Center. As always, the walk will begin on the Glen Arbor side of the Carl Oleson Jr. AKA the narrows bridge. The start of the Bridge Walk will begin with a flyover by Bruce Jacobs at noon. T-shirts and certificates of completion will be available at the end.
Did you ever “Shoot the Tube”on the Crystal River? This the last summer to do so. The culverts will be replaced with bridges, what a bummer.
