To the editor:
Kamala Harris states that food providers are “price gouging” and she will punish them with some new (bad) laws to control pricing. In fact, grocers earn an after-tax profit of less than 2 cents on every dollar earned, a pretty thin profit margin. Venezuela was once the 4th richest, per capita, nation on earth until the socialist Hugo Chavez implemented price controls on food and other commodities. Today Venezuela is the 154th “richest” nation on the planet. Kamala and Hugo are cut from the same socialist bolt of cloth, so I’m voting for the free market capitalist instead.
