The Cedar Polka Fest includes multiple events including one to feature man’s best friend.
Ultimate Air Dogs competition is always a huge success, featuring pool jumping “dog athletes” and their proud owner/trainers competing for advancement in the regional competition. Saturday, Aug. 24 starts at 10 a.m. Sunday start is at 11 a.m.
They will also have a Polish Pooch Pageant on Saturday at 11 a.m.
These are both first time events.
“We realized people in the area are very passionate about their animals,” Lisa Rossi-Brett said. “We want to add stuff every year to bring value to our guests.”
Cherryland Humane Society is handling the parking and Great Lakes Humane Society is doing doggie daycare because dogs are not allowed underneath the tent.
Even the parade at Polka Fest is dog themed with the theme of ‘Dog Days of Summer’ Former Omena Mayor will even be the grand marshal to celebrate the joyous occasion.
The idea came from attending the Frankenmuth dog bowl because they had never seen so many dogs.
