The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners approved a slim consent agenda compared to the last few months at their July regular meeting, which included:
• OK’d a requests from the Sheriff’s Office to submit a Risk Avoidance Program (RAP) grant in the amount of $3,923 to recoup 75% reimbursement for the cost of sending Sgt. Chris Bailey to the Michigan State University School of Staff and Command.
• Approved the Child Care Fund Annual Plan and Budget in the amount of $802,149.90 for the fiscal year between October 2024 and September 2025.
• Scheduled a public hearing for termination of the West Bay/West Shore Brownfield Plan, to be held Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the government center in Suttons Bay. According to executive documents, the county’s Brownfield Development Authority recommended termination of this plan as a proposed redevelopment outlined in a 2007 plan has not occurred.
• Approved the county’s 20252030 capital improvement plan, which was approved by the county planning commission the previous month.
• Accepted and approving the 2023 audit of county financial statements from the auditing firm Rehmann. These statements include governmental activities, the business-type activities, the aggregate discretely presented component units, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information.
• Approved an agreement with MCSA Group, Inc., in Grand Rapids, for an update to the County Community Parks and Recreation Plan for 2025-2029.
