The Leelanau Historical Society will present the premiere of “Lake Leelanau, Spirit of the Lake,” a captivating documentary that dives into the history and nostalgia of Lake Leelanau on Friday, July 5.
Produced by the Leelanau Historical Society and directed by KeithPattersonof Manitou Films, a heartfelt tribute to the lake’s enduring legacy.
The evening will include exploration of the lake’s formation, the indigenous who first called it home, and the diverse communities and industries that have since thrived around its pristine waters.
“Through vintage footage, expert interviews, and breathtaking cinematography, “Lake Leelanau, Spirit of the Lake” paints a vivid picture of the lake’s significance to the region and its enduring charm.
The evening at the Old Art Building in Leland begins at 6 p.m. with a toast which will be followed with the viewing at 6:30 p.m. The 23-minute film will be followed by a question and answer session with the director.
Tickets are $20 for members of the Historical Society; $25 for non-members.
