Schools out and it is officially summer, visitors are showing up , traffic on the roads is getting busier and the little town that we live in will be blooming for about 10 weeks. Then we go back to whatever normal is around here. For the pedestrians, make sure the cars are going to stop when you step foot on the road and for the vehicles it’s the other way around, don’t assume they will wait for you to stop.
Living in a small town has its definite advantages, one being as a senior citizen. I was out shoveling rocks and gravel the other day and my great neighbor Bob Ewing of Boonedocks noticed this and came around with a couple of his guys and the young guys took over and got it done about a quarter of the time it would have taken me. I can’t thank you enough.
The Glen Lake Community Library has a full summer of programs going through August 15, the next one is today and the title is “Meet Amazing Reptiles.” Also on Thursday at 7 p.m. meet author Adam Peters who will discuss his new book “The Blueprint to Happy.” I know some people that could use that.
The Empire Lions Club has their lucky 13 drawings going now. If you know a Lion buy a chance and if you’re lucky 13 number is drawn win possibly $100.
