Bishop wins award

Lindy Bishop was the winner of the Old Art Building (OAB) Leland Plein Air awards.

Fifty painters from throughout Michigan participated in the 12th annual plein air exhibition May 25.

Artist spent a full day painting en plein air before returning to the OAB late in the afternoon and hanging their fresh-off-the easel pieces — many still wet ‚ in advance of an evening reception and exhibition.

Bishop’s winning painting was called “Kalchik Orchard.” Second place went to Justin Shull for “River View” and third went to Lisa Yontz for “Fish Direction.”

Adam VanHouten and Stephanie Schlatter were honorable mentions for their submission which were “Talk of the Town,” and “Van’s Beach” respectively.
