Bring in the peak of summer with the best fashion show on the peninsula today.
A ticket to attend the Nykamping Spring/Summer 2024 collection celebrating Summer Solstice in collaboration with Isa Scott of Circles & Cycles Alchemy cost $30 at The Foxglove Farm at 3330 North Putnam Road in Suttons Bay from 7 to 9 p.m.
“This will be a good way to showcase fashion in a sustainable way,” Nykamping owner Elijah Nykamp said. “I’m feeling really excited and very anticipatory ... We have been working on this for several months and this culminates all of that work.”
The collection showcases natural fabrics dyed with natural dyes, many of which derive from plants grown locally by Scott in Northport.
“Summer Solstice” covers the changing seasons of the area, with a focus on summer, flora, sunshine & warm breeze. There will be over 20 models for a show that will take 15 to 20 minutes.
“We are extremely grateful to the many local people who have been willing to model including all ages, shapes, and sizes and in-line with my brand and messaging of size-inclusive, ageinclusiveness, and gender neutrality,” Nykamp said.
Nykamp is coming off of the first Traverse City fashion week in May that led to success and plans to do more in the future.
The Summer Solstice fashion show will be held in a field at The Foxglove Farm.
Clothing will be for sale after the show.
Fashion risk attire is strongly encouraged, but heels discouraged.
Must be over 12 years old to attend.
Alcohol cash bar provided by Green Bird Cellars.
NA drinks & light bites included.
A cocktail hour will begin at 7 p.m. with gates closing at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 8:30 p.m.
