Spend your summer evenings relaxing to the sound of free live music at multiple venues across the peninsula.
Fountain Point will be bringing back the Sunday Concert Series at the intimate cottage row that overlooks Lake Leelanau.
Bands will be coming from all over the state to take part in the summer concert series, according to Amber Buist.
“Let’s share our part of Michigan with your part of Michigan,” she said.
This will be the first time Fountain Point will host concerts since COVID.
“(Watching a concert at Fountain Point) is a breath of fresh air. The scenery is breathtaking and the music is top notch,” Buist said.
Each concert will be hosted by The Accidentals, a female fronted, multi- instrumentalists, power trio from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with hor d’oeuvres, picnic dinners, food trucks, beer, wine, and soda available. The fourth season of the Music in the Air summer concert series at the Old Art Building in Leland features a diverse lineup of 12 bands, each bringing their unique style and mood to the stage. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs or blankets for a comfortable experience.
June 27: i.am.james Kick off the summer with Sierra Cassidy, known by her stage name i.am.james. A Michigan native and alumna of the Interlochen Arts Academy and Berklee College of Music, Sierra has toured extensively, becoming a staple in music communities from Michigan to Brooklyn. Her soulful tunes will fill the air starting at 7 p.m. on the front lawn of the Old Art Building.
July 11: Mulebone Join us for a night of traditional blues with Mulebone, a dynamic duo featuring multiinstrumentalist John Ragusa and roots music specialist Hugh Pool. With five critically acclaimed CDs and numerous awards, including an AMA Top 40 hit, Mulebone promises an unforgettable performance starting at 7 p.m.
July 18: The XtraCrisp Enjoy a unique blend of original songs and covers spanning genres and eras. From the Beatles to Steely Dan, and Crosby, Stills & Nash to Tom Petty, The XtraCrisp will bring their distinctive sound to the lawn.
July 28: Josh Rose Singer-songwriter Josh Rose brings his rich, carefully crafted songs to life. With a background that includes three studio albums and a decade of touring the Midwest, Josh’s storytelling and melodic tunes will captivate the audience at 4 p.m.
August 8: Elizabeth Landry Trio Elizabeth Landry and her trio, featuring Caul Bluhm and Joe Wilson, will enchant you with their sweet, smoky melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Touring nationally and performing at renowned venues, Elizabeth’s music is not to be missed.
August 15: Barefoot Led by the exceptional vocals of Jenni Rae, Barefoot delivers acoustic roots and soul tunes. Their repertoire includes Top 40 hits from artists like Etta James to Billie Eilish, ensuring a feelgood, fun-filled evening for all ages.
August 22: Charlie Millard Experience the unique sound of the Charlie Millard Band, hailing from Michigan’s northern lower peninsula. With thought-provoking lyrics and a distinctive musical style, their performance promises to be a cinematic auditory experience.
August 29: Jazz North Closing out the series is Jazz North, a little big band composed of professional musicians from the area. Their repertoire includes classic swing, Latin, funk, blues, ballads, and danceable jazz, perfect for a lively end to the summer.
Music in the Park (Northport)
Hosted by the Northport Performing Arts Center, Northport’s Music in the Park is the longest running weekly music event in the area. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, nonprofits, visitors, and locals, everyone gets to enjoy, for free, live music and beautiful views of Northport Bay at G.M. Dame Marina Park.
Bring chairs, blankets, and a basket full of your favorite local goodies for the full experience. Socialize, picnic, and mingle while you enjoy live music from a variety of talented musicians from around the region.
Music begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m.

Late Night Fridays at the Glen Arbor Arts Center promises to be a hit as the popular arts center extends its hours to host concerts called “Manitou Music concerts on the Front Porch stage.”
June 21: A to Z Music (5 to 7 p.m.) — An original song and cover duo from Interlochen Arts Academy.
June 28: The Mighty Tundra Tones (5 to 7 p.m.) - Bringing funk, jazz, rock, and swing to the stage.
All GAAC galleries will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. during Late Night Fridays. Enjoy exhibitions such as Members Create, Native Plants by Dana Falconberry, and Ordinary Magic by Margo Burian.
