The Leland Women’s Civic Club has awarded $10,000 in college scholarships to young women graduating from Leland Public School and Lake Leelanau St. Mary School.
The Civic Club was founded in 1947, one of the Club’s purposes is to raise funds and award scholarships to students demonstrating excellence in academics, school involvement and community service.
Leland School recipients are Shelby Plamondon, Amabel Schwaiger and Mallory Lowe. Each received $2,000. St. Mary School recipients are Della Ann Bunek and Sarah Bunek. They each received $2,000 as well.
