Things are starting to pop, and I don’t mean flowers. Although the flowers are also starting to pop and looking great.

The Asparagus Fest in Empire was really well attended and the rain didn’t stop the fun under the tent and the race up the hill had many entrants. Congratulations to those that ran and walked.

I know this is early, but I cannot stress enough regarding the “Stan Brubaker Anything Goes Fourth of July Parade,” be smart and throw candy over the spectators. Please don’t just drop it on the street remember there are a bunch of candy loving kids and some parents egging them on and we don’t want any injuries. Also if you want to squirt each other on your float do so. Nobody else wants to get wet.

Happy Birthday wishes to Georgia Gietzen, Diane Calsbeek, Mackenzie Roman Mitchell, Larry Krawzcek, Lissa Edwards, Chris Reid, Ann Noffsinger, Suzanne Ferguson, Karen Soderholm, and Gabrielle Carels. Special happy birthday to Alan Kasper on his 90th. Congratulations to all.

Happy Anniversary to former residence Christy and David Marshall all the best.

Be safe. Be happy. Have fun and go patriotism. I hope everyone had the flag out for D-Day on the 6th.
