Vote ‘no’ on millage

To the editor: It will be up to voters to stop the rapid expansion and spending of the Leelanau County democratically controlled board of commissioners. Voters will have their first opportunity in the August primary election by voting “no” on an unneeded Parenting Communities Millage being advertised as the “children’s millage.” The board has an extra $1.1 million in property tax income that so far has not been budgeted.

The board has an extra $1.1 million in property tax income that so far has not been budgeted. So why are we being asked for another increase in millages?

Vote “no” on the millage and then vote for new responsible people to your commissioners.
