To the editor:
At a Board of Commissioner meeting a county attorney explained that commissioners must hold their discussions in front of the public.
This is a basic part of open government, because if commissioners talk among themselves outside of the meeting citizens don’t have a chance to participate in the decision-making process.
A video shows Ross saying, “commissioners are encouraged to talk to each other outside this board room and that is OK.”
Inside politics should not be tolerated in Leelanau County.
