Empire Asparagus Festival slated for June 1

We had a great time in Illinois, seeing and staying with our best buddies that unfortunately we don’t get to see much. The traffi c makes me very happy that we live here.

The Glen Lake Woman’s Club is accepting used jewelry donations until the Art Fair on July 17. The sale of this jewelry goes to scholarships for Glen Lake seniors.

For those interested, Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes annual spring safety training will be held May 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Empire Town Hall.

The following day, Anderson’s Market will hold an anniversary celebration in the parking lot starting at 2 p.m.

Mother’s Day was a good time with our family, all the kids, etc. got together and celebrated with mom, grandma and of course wife. The weather was great and everything worked out.

We are all looking forward to the Empire Asparagus Festival on Saturday June 1, noon 6 p.m. Always a good time.
