Wacky weather greets snowbirds

I don’t care what anyone says, this is spring. As usual it is raining and blowing like crazy, but it is still spring.

The Empire Lions Pancake Breakfast was a great success, as usual with over 200 people enjoying the breakfast. While we are speaking of the Lions Club, if you have any eye glasses that are not being used anymore, find a Lions Club member and they will be sure to get them put to a good use.

This is really ‘tween time, snow birds are coming back and the weather is warm, cold, dry and rainy, some fun.

Good news, the Empire “Sugar Bear” was caught and relocated.

I hope those of you that took advantage of Glen Lake Restaurant Week enjoyed, I think that it is still going when this paper comes out.

I was unable to attend the Emergency Fund Concert at Art’s, I think this was the 13th year anniversary of the concert. Hope it was the usual success. It is definitely for a good cause.

My first reminder, if necessary. Don’t forget the females in your life, Mother’s Day Sunday the 12th.

Happy Birthday wishes to Patricia Alonzi, Bob Chase, Sue Rife, Roxanne Gillen, Rich Robertson, Dawn Baldwin and Harry S. Truman.

Not a holiday, but we mark the anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war.

Be careful, be happy, be safe.

Go Patriotism.
