Peninsula Housing will host a workshop to explore housing options for two properties in Suttons Bay Township.
The event is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 2 at the Suttons Bay-Bingham Fire Station Community Room (201 S. St. Mary’s Ave.) in Suttons Bay.
Peninsula Housing will present options for housing and amenities on two sites and community members will have opportunities to share their ideas.
Housing in Leelanau County has become unattainable for many working people and families —from school teachers to police officers to those working in the service industry. Home prices have risen and rental housing has been converted to vacation rentals.
These two parcels present an opportunity to build workforce housing that is needed to keep our community strong while maintaining Suttons Bay’s unique character. Peninsula Housing is seeking community input about the types of housing needed and what would fit seamlessly into the Suttons Bay community.
Peninsula Housing is a nonprofi t community land trust committed to providing affordable housing in Suttons Bay and Leelanau County.
