To the editor:
Once again, Rep. Jack Bergman has allied himself with the far-right fringe of the Republican Party — Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Elise Stefanik, among others — this time opposing aid to Ukraine, and thereby providing support to Putin. Although he will defend his vote as fiscal responsibility, he must, as a former military man, know the inevitable consequences of his decision. Bergman is certainly no statesman with a wise vision of the larger issues, but a backbench hack with only an ad hoc grasp of partisan politics, a weak wannabe in the extremist wing of the GOP. Remember in November.
